The recipient of this year's Classic Cars for a Cause is the Crittenden Foundation. The Crittenden Foundation was recently formed in honor of Claire Crittenden, a local four-year old girl diagnosed with Leigh's Disease in June 2007. The Crittenden Foundation is developing plans to build a camp that will be capable of serving the special needs of children who have been diagnosed with a fatal illness, such as children with Leigh's Disease. Leigh's Disease is a rare genetic disorder that causes deterioration of the central nervous system. The prognosis of those impacted by Leigh's Disease is poor and they may live to be 6 or 7 years of age, although some children have survived into their mid-teenage years.
Musicians to perform at the event:
- Louie Sagedy - Opening at 6 PM
- Nick Pallas
Nick Pallas of Grayson, Georgia is only 15-years-old but has already been hailed as a new generation rat packer. His music is a genre blend of Contemporary, Classical and Pop that is unique with a jazzy style of its own. Musical influences like Michael Bublé, Josh Groban and Frank Sinatra drive his genre to one that all ages can enjoy. - Mac Arnold & Plate Full O' Blues
Mac Arnold is a blues player from South Carolina who's been playing since a teenager and has been involved with Muddy Waters, backed up artists including The Temptations and B.B. King, and worked on the set of Soul Train.
